Visa to Russia

Citizens of the State of Israel need visas only for study or working purposes. Business visas are issued to Israeli citizens only for commercial purposes. Citizens of other states as well as stateless persons staying in Israel can apply for visas to Russia if they have a permission to stay in Israel for more than 90 days.

Israeli citizens please note - you may use travel document ("teudat maavar") to visit Russia as well as passport ("darkon"). Tourist, transit or visitor's visas are not required in this case. Any entrance fees are charged. Yet, bearers of travel document without Israeli citizenship (orange "teudat maavar") must apply for Russian visa. 

Visas are issued not earlier than 20 days before the intended entrance to Russia.

Visa applications are accepted Monday-Friday from 12.00 p.m. till 14.00 p.m.

Visa application form must be completed on Web portal https://visa.kdmid.ru.

 

TRANSIT VISA

Please note: if traveling through the territory of Russia by plane a single-entry transit visa can be valid for 3 days only. If using other means of traveling (train, ferry, car) it can be valid for up to 10 days only. Visa processing starts only after the complete required set of document is submitted.

Visas cannot be changed or extended. If your travel plans changed after the visa issuance you have to reapply for a new one.

To obtain a transit visa the following documents should be submitted to the consular section:

1.         A completed visa application form (one per person). Must be completed on Web portal https://visa.kdmid.ru

2.         A valid (at least for 6 months) passport which should have at least two clear visa pages and a copy of its vital pages.

3.         One passport size (35x45 mm) photo of the applicant which should be stapled to the marked space of the application form.

4.         A copy of the visa of the country you are going to and/or from if needed.

5.         Copies of your airline tickets.

6.         Insurance policy, valid on the territory of Russia for the period of visit.

 

TOURIST VISA

Please note: a tourist visa can be single-entry or double-entry for a period of no more than 30 days.

Visa processing starts only after the complete required set of document is submitted.

Please, note that visas cannot be changed or extended. If your travel plans changed after the visa issuance you have to reapply for a new one.

1.         A completed visa application form (one per person). Must be completed on Web portal https://visa.kdmid.ru

2.         A valid (at least for 6 months) passport which should have at least two clear visa pages and a copy of its vital pages.

3.         One passport size (35x45 mm) photo of the applicant which should be stapled to the marked space of the application form.

4.         A standard “Confirmation” from a hosting authorized Russian travel agency or a hotel registered with the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  (Any authorized travel company must be assigned a special reference number which should be indicated in the Confirmation letter).

5.         Insurance policy, valid on the territory of Russia for the period of visit.

 

WORK VISA

Please note: work visa can be single-, double- or multi-entry depending on the invitation. Single-entry and double-entry visas can be valid for the period of no longer than 90 days. A one year multi-entry business visa enables a foreign citizen to enter the Russian Federation multiple times within the indicated timeframe. It doesn’t mean that the visa holder is allowed to remain in the Russian Federation for a year. Visa processing starts only after the complete required set of document is submitted.

To obtain a work visa the following documents should be submitted to the consular section:

1.         A completed visa application form (one per person). Must be completed on Web portal https://visa.kdmid.ru

2.         A valid (at least for 6 months for single- and double-entry visas, at least 18 months for multi-entry visa ) passport which should have at least two clear visa pages and a copy of its vital pages.

3.         One passport size (35x45 mm) photo of the applicant which should be glued to the marked space of the application form.

4.         An official invitation issued by the Russian Federal Migration Service or its regional offices sent to you by your Russian partner.  You should submit the original of the invitation. Electronic invitations are accepted as well.

5.          An official HIV test (AIDS) Certificate (in English or in Russian). 

6.          Insurance policy, valid on the territory of Russia for the period of visit.   

 

BUSINESS VISA

Please note: business visa can be single-, double- or multi-entry depending on the invitation. Single-entry and double-entry visas can be valid for the period of no longer than 90 days. A one year multi-entry business visa enables a foreign citizen to enter the Russian Federation multiple times within the indicated timeframe. It doesn’t mean that the visa holder is allowed to remain in the Russian Federation for a year. According to the Russian Migration Law, a multi-entry visa holder is allowed to stay in Russia up to 90 days within every 180 days.

Visa processing starts only after the complete required set of document is submitted.

4.         An official invitation issued by the Russian Federal Migration Service or its regional offices sent to you by your university.  You should submit the original of the invitation. Electronic invitations are accepted as well.

5.          An official HIV test (AIDS) Certificate (in English or in Russian).

6.          Insurance policy, valid on the territory of Russia for the period of visit.


Visa transfer.

If a foreign citizen who is a holder of a valid Russian visa gets a new national passport and the previous one is declared void, the visa may be restored in the new passport upon a written request (web portal https://visa.kdmid.ru) of an applicant. A fee (144 NIS) will be charged for visa restoration.

Nota bene!

In accordance with Russian legislation, entry to the Russian Federation of foreign nationals who are holders of void national passports with valid Russian visas and valid new national passports without visas is not provided. A foreign citizen must in advance transfer the visa from the old passport to the new one at a Russian consulate.
